I can't think of anything other than getting the company immigration lawyer's help in this case.
On another note, all of here with pending GC processes, should be ready to face the prospect of going back to our home countries. "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst".

The only change he ever made is moving to a new place in the same city. Does anyone have a similar experience? What needs to be done apart from consulting a good immigration attorney? Your advice will be much appreciated.

Immigration to Canada is the most obvious option in case you want to stay within North America. Being Canadian permanent resident / citizen allows you to run business in the States under certain rules.
Another option is Australia but it is a bit far away and in fact the country is not very much populated - less than 20 mln people. I.e. business is not booming.
Dubai is an excellent option for making money, or at least that was the case 10-15 years ago. Its economy is still booming.

What will happen if primary case got approved but dependent case is still pending and at the same time, dependent H4 will be expiring soon??
Actually my case got approved yesterday, my wife's not yet. Her H4 expires in September. Thanks.
She is NOT in H4 status anymore the day your I-485 is approved.
She has 180 days (from your approval date) to file I-485 application, otherwise she has to do follow-to-join CP at consulate abroad.
Consult a good attorney asap.

As per my reading one can re-enter on AP. But do remember that the CBP officer at the port of entry notices that once case is under security check or something he may create issues. But in general i don't think this is the case. One of my friend who was stuck with security check entered using AP. I know him personally so this is for fact happend.
As per several murthy chat items, Sheela Murthy also thinks one can enter on AP if their H1B visa stamp is rejected to getting delayed.
But do remember that, your status will change from H1B to PAROLE once you enter using AP. But hey, you can alwyas change it back to H1B once you get the visa.
One of my personal concerns about this approach (for which i don't have concrete answer), does the consulate consider your visa applicaton abondoned if they find out that the candidate has entered US?

Whats the process to do stamping in canada ? My visa has expired since Jan' 2008 - is it same like India ? Do we still get stuck with PMIS or is it okay to go on I-94 and keep the same to re-entry if any issues ?

For parents I am not comfortable with the statement "and that________father�s name) is his/her father and _____________ (mother�s name) is his/her mother."
So just dig a little and there were members who have posted the sample for parents and close relative.

but we received an RFE Yday forwarded from my old address which I moved out 1 year ago and filed AR11.
also the RFE stated that there is no G28 representation on our case and worst thing was online status is still pending.
We had lost 13 valuable days because of address they used in RFE.

I think that is the reason you got it to your address instead of your attorney. They might have missed that G-28 or your attorney forgot to send in with other stuff.

The problem with premium processing of 485 is that there a procedures in 485, like the FBI namecheck, the Fingerprinting etc, that is perfect recipe for bureaucratic nightmare.
USCIS is in the Department of Homeland security. That's where I485 starts. Then comes FBI namecheck. That's US dept of Justice. After that, comes the issue of alloting visa numbers. That is US State Department.
So you have 3 big bodies of US government who have to all work at premium speed IN SYNC with each other, without passing the buck to each other, to make premium processing possible for 485 filing.
As we all know, USCIS that alone handles I140 petitions took years to implement premium I140. Now if 3 entirely different Departments of US govt were to be asked to harmoniously streamline another procedure, then I guess its wish very less likely to come true, EVEN IF they want it as much as we do.

I guess employer need to revoke unused H1Bs as part of H1B rules. Maybe that is the reason employer revoked past H1Bs to keep their side clean.
I remember reading Murthy bullettin where she mentioned back-wages are an issue if H1B is not explicitly revoked.

My previous attorney also mentioned the same thing. Looking at this thread it seems all soft/hard lud's were generated on Sunday, April 26th. Maybe a computer program flagged these cases.

This person mailed on June 28 and app received on June 29 and got his notice date on July 24. Today.
I could have been with him today but for my attorney who got extremely busy and did not file my 485 with 140 and got stuck with July fiasco

SKIL exempts applicants with a masters degree from the US and 3 years experience from the annual quotas. This along with not counting dependents should bring considerable relief to even the folks who are still subject to quota.

If per country limit of 7% stays, how much relief would it bring in terms of
priority dates for India/China born individuals?
I do not think there shall be any significant positive movement in Priority dates. Even if annual numbers go to 290K from 140K and dependents are excluded. It is about 4 times meaning if earlier we had 10K for India including sposes meaning 5K effectively, now it will be appx 20K effectively!
Think of number of applicants from India and China and think of the flood coming when all backlog is cleared! I dont think we should expect big jump in priority dates.
Am I getting too pessimistic?

Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?
