To all the above liberal minded people who said what's wrong with this. Lord Ganesha is symbol of intelligence and soma (the divine liquor) is not associated with Him.

Now what if your faces or your parents pictures are put on toilet seats and covers. Do you say the same thing?? Now there is no difference between you guys and M** F** Hussain who choses our God to draw objectionable pictures. You all are hyprocrites.

Please dont sensationalize this and try to make it news when it is'nt.
People like VHP and Bajrang Dal do this to exploit divisions that result in more votes for them (its almost the way Hitler exploited divisions against the Jews). As educated, skilled, tech-savvy, responsible adults atleast we should all refrain from getting caught up in all this.

Move on guys. Worry about retrogression and priority dates. Even those stupid threads on LUDs are more productive than this one.

From a logical perspective how many people arrive on flights which just happen to arrive during regular business hours so employers can be contacted?? Even if you do arrive in the middle of the day the chances are the phone would not be manned at that precise moment the POE officer chooses to call.

If there would be any doubt the POE officer would pass the individual onto secondary inspection for them to take care of things.

Another observation, why are H1B holders in line in front of green card holders. Did the green card holders just happen to want to join the long line or did the visa holder decide they could go in the short line at immigration?

Just some thoughts after reading these sort of posts.

Another one, how on earth does an employer know that there is a US citizen that could do the job spontaneously when the POE officer just happened to call them???

Until I see a real story that can be verified I doubt what I am reading is true.

I am not saying my lawyer is any better, all these lawyers are nothing but blood suckers just like the employers. I'm just disgusted that people can stoop so low. The objective might be the same, but the intentions are far from it. I hope you understand that my friend and stop being a PR rep for murthy or any lawyer. :)


You have the option to leave the country if you think all employers and lawyers are blood suckers - I cannot comment on anybodys intention - I dont think you and me know the complete facts to pass a value judgement and that includes your comment about me being a PR for murthy or any lawyer. I enjoy a healthy debate on issues not on people and you seem to completely miss that from my postings.:)

NO, no way.

There are tens of thousands of EB2 India applicants from 2000 to 2002. Add labor substituters, EB2 converters, and you'll be lucky to see EB-2 India at even Dec 2002. Most likely within a few weeks of Apr, all EB-2 India visas will get used up. Keep in mind the new EB-2 numbers are from EB-1 India flowover. So it's going to last even less time than Oct-Nov last year.

tens of people who come out and attack them on why they need money all the time. But they still go ahead and do it. The reason being for every 10 who ridicule the idea, there are 20 who support it.
I really admire the perseverance the core shows in moving forward.

If everything seems to be tied to donations, this is because everything needs money. You know ,keeping up this website needs money. Lobbying needs a lot of money. The other day, some one pulled the info from a public website and said 500,000$ have been already spent on lobbying. I am sure more than 90% is probably contributed y less than 5% of the members. I am not one of those 5% even remotely.

Ignore teli and Sanju. You donot need their express approval to move forward. You know why they pick on you ? Because tyou just come and expect to be welcomed as heroes for any idea you have. You need to earn those stripes, then people will follow you.
Tak one Idea. Do something with it. YOu may not get a positive result in the end , but your effort will be appreciated and people will be more receptive to your next idea.

Well said...every now and then some one will pop up with some questions and attack on IV and core... Typically it used to be like this

1. Coming up one proposal with no proper plan
2. Attack on core and asking what the core is doing all these days...?
3. What is preventing core from doing this and that...?

Dont you guys understand that core members also volunteer, they do have their full time job and family. If you believe in something you need to lead the effort. You can not expect others to work and execute your half baked ideas. Come up proper plan and convince others. Otherwise actively take part in IV issues, join state chapter. Contribute more time if you can not contribute money. Build your reputation and others will follow you.

See this Guy who op-ed this thread...once in a week/two he comes here for time pass. He is questioning everyone and advocating to contribute for the recapture though he is not even contributing a penny so far. Dont you think its funny.

only other thing that would help India EB2,3 would be to use these recaptured numbers to be used ONLY for priority dates older than 3years or something like that. Even if achieve legislation to recapture the EB numbers.. unlesss we seek something like this EB India will be screwed for ever.

Well - though white racists may oppose - anything related to economy and development does go through.

I personally think that if this proposal goes through - EU will be the next melting pot.

Racism is there everywhere, we find it in US also, even in India, you find caste system and inter state racism. With rising opportunities, such things may not really be visible especially in places where there are free zones.

I think fedex does some same day delivery service from some cities, I called they had that service from my city, you might have to give the package very early like 4 or 5 am on monday, call 1800-go-fedex for details

i don't think they accept anything on sunday to deliver on Monday. You can call fedex cust rep and find more.

Things to do before we meet the Congressmen:

1> Research on Congressmen on his community efforts.
2> Read the slides.
3> Have a meeting between us to discuss what and how we are going to present the material to him.

So here is the deal. The congressman to whose district I do not belong will not entertain any requests.

I called up Mike Ferguson and Rodney P. Frelinghuysen office.
Mike Ferguson's office asked me to fax to the request to his office
and I have to write a letter to Rodney P. Frelinghuysen with details of the issue and who will be attending the meeting.

So I guess, you guys have to contact your local congressmen unlike what I had originally thought.

There is no schedule right now for ongoing conference calls. They are adhoc. There was a tri-state chapter call on 1/19/07. Whenever, there is a conference call, there will be a thread in the forums about it.

IV has suggested that the senators of NJ are pro-immigration and that the congressmen are divided. When you call up your local congressmen, just say that you are calling to request a personal meeting with the Congressmen to discuss the immigration legislation.

I am going to talk to IV and find out the exact contents of the letter/fax that we would be sending.

Here is the format letter that you should use to request appointment from your local congressman

I am a concerned constituent writing to you on behalf of ImmigrationVoice, a non profit organization working to get the problems of Employment based Legal Immigration to the attention of lawmakers. I would like to request for a meeting to discuss the problems that the legal high skilled immigrant community is facing.

Employment Based Legal immigration is currently facing some of the worst waiting periods in the recent past. Applicants have to wait to finish their final phase of immigration for as many as 6-7 years because of the lack of employment based green card numbers which is also called Green Card Retrogression. The reasons for these are certain bureaucratic delays, flawed practices and procedures and arcane laws which are not in tune with reality at all.

Please also note that there are more than 350,000 Labor applications pending at the Labor department to be processed. Some of them are as old as from year 2000. Subsequent to rigorous but unfruitful recruitment efforts by our employers and other processing stages by USCIS, we still have to face prolonged wait times. It is also to be noted that most of us are already working in the U.S. for the past 5-6 years and are contributing to the U.S. economy in the form of taxes etc - some of which we do not derive any benefit from. This also hurts the businesses in your constituency like my employer because they have to wait indefinitely to hire talented applicants on a permanent basis. This is a very important issue and will determine whether the United States of America remains competitive in the fields of science and technology and retains the best talent from around the world.

ImmigrationVoice is a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers who are suffering due to these delays and wish to bring this important issue in front of their lawmakers. Hence I would request an appointment so that I can explain these problems and ask for support for some of the legislative measures that have been introduced to alleviate these problems.

Update: Thank you everyone who has contributed since July 2 when we announced the drive. Our total contributions from paypal and google are around $2,500 till now (despite having 15 k members). As you can understand this is hardly of any significance for even a small legal effort. A big lawsuit is out of question. Thus IV core will use it for IV activities to further pursue its advocacy efforts. IV encourages its members being a plaintiffs with AILF if they so desire. If you are an IV member and also a plaintiff, you can let us know for any guidance we can provide. IV will be coming up with more direction to its members soon. We will have some plan for everyone and will need participation from everyone. Please stay tuned.

Man, $2500 only. That is really pathetic.
